Prep Time: 15 minutes
Cook Time: 50 minutes
Servings: 6 servings

Ingredients

  • 1.2 kg (2.6 lbs) beef loin or sirloin roast
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • 5 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 tbsp honey or brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste

Instructions

1. Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 190°C (375°F). Lightly grease a roasting pan with olive oil.

2. Season the Beef

Pat the beef roast dry with paper towels. Season all sides with smoked paprika, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.

3. Prepare the Honey Garlic Glaze

In a small bowl, mix the minced garlic, honey, olive oil, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, and a pinch of black pepper until well combined.

4. Sear the Beef

Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a skillet over high heat. Sear the beef for 2–3 minutes per side until lightly browned. Transfer it to the prepared roasting pan.

5. Add the Glaze and Roast

Brush the honey garlic glaze generously over the beef. Roast for approximately 45–50 minutes, brushing occasionally with the pan juices. Use a meat thermometer to check doneness rather than relying on time alone.

6. Rest and Serve

Remove the beef from the oven and let it rest for 10–15 minutes before slicing. Spoon the delicious honey garlic pan juices over the slices before serving.

Tips

  • Caramelized Crust: Broil for the final 1–2 minutes if needed, watching carefully to prevent the honey from burning.
  • Juicy Beef: Let the roast rest before slicing to help retain its juices.
  • Check Temperature: Cooking time varies depending on the shape and thickness of the roast. For food safety, whole beef roasts should reach at least 63°C (145°F), followed by a 3-minute rest.
  • Serving Suggestion: Serve with roasted potatoes, carrots, green beans, or a fresh garden salad.
