Creamy Peach Banana Chia Smoothie

Creamy Peach Banana Chia Smoothie

Prep time: 10 minutes
Blend time: 1–2 minutes
Servings: 2 large glasses

This creamy smoothie combines ripe peaches, banana, milk, and chia seeds. A little honey is optional if your fruit needs extra sweetness. Serve it straight from the blender while it is cold and thick.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups chopped ripe peaches, fresh or frozen
  • 1 ripe banana, sliced
  • 1 cup milk, dairy or unsweetened plant-based
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds
  • 1–2 teaspoons honey, optional
  • ½ cup ice cubes, if using fresh peaches
  • Peach slices and fresh mint, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Prepare the fruit. Wash, pit, and chop the peaches. Peel and slice the banana. If using frozen peaches, you can skip the ice for a thicker smoothie.
  2. Fill the blender. Pour in the milk first, then add the peaches, banana, chia seeds, honey if using, and ice.
  3. Blend. Blend for 45–60 seconds, until smooth and creamy. Stop and scrape down the sides if any fruit remains above the blades.
  4. Adjust the texture. Add a splash more milk if the smoothie is too thick. For a thicker drink, blend in a few more pieces of frozen peach.
  5. Serve. Pour into two glasses. Garnish with a peach slice and mint, if you like, and serve immediately.

Tips

  • A ripe banana adds sweetness and creaminess, so taste the smoothie before adding honey.
  • For the thickest texture, use frozen peach pieces and a chilled banana.
  • Let the blended smoothie stand for 5 minutes if you prefer the chia seeds slightly softened. Stir once before drinking.
  • For a more filling breakfast, add ½ cup plain Greek yogurt. You may need a little extra milk to keep it pourable.

Storage

This smoothie tastes best just after blending. If needed, refrigerate it in a sealed jar for up to 24 hours. The chia seeds will thicken it as it sits, so shake well and add a splash of milk before serving.

Q&A

Can I use canned peaches?
Yes. Drain them first, and choose peaches packed in juice if possible. Taste before adding honey.

Can I make it dairy-free?
Yes. Use oat, almond, or soy milk. Each will give the smoothie a slightly different flavor and texture.

Do I need to soak the chia seeds?
No. They can go straight into the blender. For a smoother texture, blend a little longer.
