🥓 Bacon-Wrapped Glazed Chicken Breast

🛒 Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts or chicken tenderloins
  • 8–10 slices bacon
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • ½ tsp Italian seasoning or dried thyme
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • ⅓ cup barbecue sauce or maple glaze
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (optional)

👩‍🍳 Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a rimmed baking sheet or baking dish with aluminum foil for easy cleanup.
  2. In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Pat the chicken dry with paper towels. Rub the seasoning mixture evenly over all sides of the chicken.
  4. Wrap 2–3 bacon slices tightly around each chicken breast, slightly overlapping the slices so the chicken is well covered. Place them seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet.
  5. Bake for 20 minutes.
  6. Remove the chicken from the oven and brush the barbecue sauce or maple glaze generously over the top and sides.
  7. Return to the oven and bake for another 8–10 minutes, or until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C) and the bacon is crispy and caramelized.
  8. For extra crispiness, broil for 1–2 minutes, watching closely.
  9. Garnish with fresh parsley and let the chicken rest for 5 minutes before slicing and serving.

💡 Tip

Use a meat thermometer to make sure the chicken reaches 165°F (74°C) without overcooking it. Letting it rest before slicing helps keep the chicken juicy.
