🥓 Bacon-Wrapped Glazed Chicken Breast
🛒 Ingredients
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts or chicken tenderloins
- 8–10 slices bacon
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- ½ tsp Italian seasoning or dried thyme
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- ⅓ cup barbecue sauce or maple glaze
- 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (optional)
👩🍳 Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a rimmed baking sheet or baking dish with aluminum foil for easy cleanup.
- In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper.
- Pat the chicken dry with paper towels. Rub the seasoning mixture evenly over all sides of the chicken.
- Wrap 2–3 bacon slices tightly around each chicken breast, slightly overlapping the slices so the chicken is well covered. Place them seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake for 20 minutes.
- Remove the chicken from the oven and brush the barbecue sauce or maple glaze generously over the top and sides.
- Return to the oven and bake for another 8–10 minutes, or until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C) and the bacon is crispy and caramelized.
- For extra crispiness, broil for 1–2 minutes, watching closely.
- Garnish with fresh parsley and let the chicken rest for 5 minutes before slicing and serving.
💡 Tip
Use a meat thermometer to make sure the chicken reaches 165°F (74°C) without overcooking it. Letting it rest before slicing helps keep the chicken juicy.
