Garlic Herb Baked Chicken Breast 🧄🍗
Prep Time: 15 minutes Cook Time: 25 minutes Servings: 4
Ingredients
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 3 tbsp olive oil
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- ½ tsp onion powder
- 3 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
Instructions
1. Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease a baking dish.
2. Prepare the Chicken
Pat the chicken breasts dry with paper towels. Rub olive oil over both sides of each piece. Season with smoked paprika, Italian seasoning, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.
3. Add Garlic and Cheese
Spread the minced garlic evenly over the chicken breasts. Sprinkle Parmesan cheese on top, pressing gently so it sticks to the chicken.
4. Bake the Chicken
Place the chicken in the prepared baking dish. Bake for 20–25 minutes, depending on the thickness, until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
5. Make the Topping Golden
For a golden, crispy cheese topping, broil the chicken for the final 1–2 minutes. Watch carefully to prevent the garlic and cheese from burning.
6. Rest and Garnish
Remove the chicken from the oven and let it rest for 5–10 minutes. Sprinkle with fresh chopped parsley, slice, and serve warm.
Tips
- Keep It Juicy: Let the chicken rest before slicing to help retain its natural juices.
- Cook Evenly: Pound thicker chicken breasts to an even thickness before seasoning.
- Add More Flavor: Squeeze a little fresh lemon juice over the chicken before serving.
- Serving Idea: Serve with roasted vegetables, mashed potatoes, or a fresh green salad.
